MCP Integration
Tupsara runs an MCP server at /mcp exposing every capability above as a tool, so an AI assistant can render PDFs, manage templates, and check past jobs directly in conversation — no separate integration code.
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
generate_pdf |
Render a PDF from html or template_id |
get_pdf_job |
Look up a job by id |
list_pdf_jobs |
List past jobs, newest first |
get_usage |
Your plan quota, and when it resets |
create_template |
Save a new template (session-only, same as REST) |
list_my_templates |
List your own templates |
list_public_templates |
List community templates |
get_template |
Look up one template by id |
Checking your quota
Section titled “Checking your quota”get_usage takes no arguments and reports the same quota as GET /v1/usage:
{ "plan": "free_user", "monthly_limit": 100, "monthly_used": 7, "monthly_remaining": 93, "monthly_period_start": "2026-09-03T09:42:02.519000+00:00", "monthly_resets_at": "2026-10-03T09:42:02.519000+00:00", "last_24h": { "total": 3, "succeeded": 3, "failed": 0 }}monthly_resets_at is when monthly_used next returns to 0 — ISO 8601, UTC, on the monthly anniversary of your plan subscription’s start. null means it’s unknown.
Call it before a batch of generate_pdf calls, or after a PLAN_QUOTA_EXCEEDED error, to know when generating is possible again. The error itself carries no retry hint.
Two differences from the REST endpoint: counts for the last 24 hours are nested under last_24h, and that window is fixed — REST returns flat total/succeeded/failed and accepts window_seconds. Scoping is the same too: last_24h counts only the API key used, or the whole account when called with a session. The monthly quota fields always cover the whole account, shared by all its keys.
Connecting
Section titled “Connecting”- Claude Code / Claude Desktop (or any client that supports a custom header): add the server with
Authorization: Bearer pdf_live_...— the same API key as REST. - claude.ai web connector (OAuth-only, no custom headers): add
https://api.tupsara.com/mcpas a custom connector. It walks through Dynamic Client Registration and a Clerk sign-in automatically — no client ID or secret to copy anywhere.
